I undertook the Accelerate LEAD program which is a course for people to explore the potential for leadership roles within our company. I was a little daunted going into the course. I had never taken such a course before and I hadn’t worked in the corporate world for very long so I was unsure what to expect. It was quite a large group with around 20 people but Karen was an expert at bringing out the best in people in a group setting. Despite the group size she was able to share effectively with everyone at a group and individual level.
The course was fantastic! There was never a dull moment and the course brought all the ideas and knowledge that were on the fringes of my understanding to life. Karen’s teaching was able to solidify my understanding of a lot of different aspects of interpersonal relationships at work. The course increased my understanding of my own personality as well as understanding the people around me in my team. The course provided many useful tools for clear communication and made me more comfortable to keep progressing towards a leadership role.
Undertaking this course was a great decision. It pushes you out of your comfort zone, and I came out of it more confident, open minded and knowledgeable as to how I can get the most satisfaction out of my career.
